All CJH Jewelry is handcrafted by me,Cara At Work Crafting Cara Hamann, in Iowa City, Iowa. I make jewelry primarily because I have so much fun doing it. I have been designing recycled bicycle part jewelry since 2010 and have been making arts and crafts for as long as I can remember. I especially love the challenge  that comes along with incorporating bicycle parts into my pieces. I am happy to be able to save these items from the landfill, while at the same time creating designs that are unique and interesting.

Besides making jewelry, I am also an avid bicyclist including commuting to work, riding around town, and racing (road, mountain bike, and cyclocross). I am part of the Iowa City Cycling Club and co-direct a grassroots racing series called Chamois Time. For my day job I work at the University of Iowa College of Public Health as an injury epidemiologist in the Injury Prevention Research Center. My interest area is transportation-related injuries, with a focus on bicycling and pedestrian injuries.
